As a second reading I had to chance to analyze it better. Kafka delivers the lines at the first paragraph and conducts the narrative prosaically after — that what makes us disturbed till the end. I was hoping to find more obvious metaphors (effects of Capitalism, f.i.) as a mature reader but in the end the novel is more crude and sharp than I’d remember.
