Usually I’m a little annoyed by Business books but as this was well rated at our Automattic’s must-read panel I decided to give it a try. Peter M. Senge’s The Fifth Discipline: The Fifth Discipline: The Art & Practice of The Learning Organization talks about five these five disciplines to create an organization of the future, that keeps learning, transforming itself and growing. He presents in details his ideas on Building Shared Vision, Systems Thinking, Mental Models, Team Learning, and Personal Mastery.

I found particularly interesting his view on Team Learning instead of individual, the need to avoid assumptions and the artistry of dialogue.

Not yet my kind of book and doesn’t sound that new to me — as I’m into remote work and smart business models for years – but quite important to help people move from conventional work models into contemporary (and better) ones.
